About

Working across the boundaries of digital media, sculpture, and installation, my practice brings together historical and contemporary technologies, including local and algorithmic forms of knowledge; in doing so, I intend to position technology not as an impartial tool but rather as a material-bound mechanism that carries stratified regimes of power and meaning. Instead of reducing this mechanism to a set of representations and flattening their sociological, economic, and environmental dimensions, I focus on the operational dimension of technology by momentarily intervening in processes thought to be inevitable.

My work couples infrastructural specimen from everyday surroundings and digital environments with controversial questions around modalities of accessing information, the construction of boundaries, as well as the conditional—and sometimes piecemeal—availability of information for different audiences; I therefore attempt to map the influence of the labor-automation relationship on networked systems of access and value production. By creating feedback loops of intellectual, bodily, and sensory inputs culled from open sources and archives, I aim to encourage critical discussions around structures that regulate labor, visibility, and participation.
